The exhibition presents the fascinating world of prints by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), a master of this medium.
Picasso, known for his boundless creativity, experimented with various printing techniques throughout his life. In his workshop, he combined engraving, etching, drypoint, aquatint and mezzotint in innovative ways to bring his ideas to life.
His ‘347 Engravings’ series, which he created in 1968, is particularly impressive. Between March and October of that year, he created 347 works in which Picasso works with fast, precise lines and deep black, combined with delicate hatching. This series depicts a parade of figures - artists, courtesans, musketeers, artists and models - playing out the comedy of life in a mixture of humour and melancholy. The works reflect Picasso's unique ability to express his artistic freedom in every detail.
The exhibition presents 80 selected works from a private collection in Zug from this important series, which are being shown so comprehensively for the first time in German-speaking Switzerland. Visitors can embark on an exciting journey through Picasso's creative world and discover the diversity of his graphic art.
Exhibition period: From 25 January 2025 to 8 June 2025.
