A central fire heats the village. Connecting to a heating network is a safe, clean and convenient way to heat your home.
The Holwärmezentrale Menzingen connects the village center as well as the institute Menzingen via a 2.5 km long heating network. The heating network was built by Wasserwerke Zug (WWZ) and put into operation in 2010. At full capacity, the woodchip heating system is fed annually with around 9500 cubic meters of woodchips from the surrounding forests. This saves over 900,000 liters of heating oil and 2500 tons of C02 per year.
