In addition to picturesque landscapes, rare plants such as native orchids, butterflies, birds and, with a little luck, even wild animals such as roe deer, hares and capercaillie line the hiking trail.
Various vantage points offer a first-class view of the Rigi, the Pilatus, the Mythen and, with good visibility, even the Säntis is within reach.

Sacred buildings and the Morgarten Monument offer a lively history lesson in a picturesque landscape. Morgarten is closely linked to the origins of Swiss history. It was here, in 1315, that the historically controversial Battle of Morgarten between the Schwyz and the Habsburgs took place.
